The case

A6: “A research community maintains an impeccable argument record. Every conclusion is linked to sources. Objections are logged. Changes are versioned. No commitment disappears without a trace. Unfortunately, the community systematically excludes a class of alternative explanations from its conceptual vocabulary.” A second group keeps a worse record, runs better interventions, and finds the right explanation.

What it can show

That accountability and correctness come apart, and that a record judged only in its own grammar can miss what the grammar excludes. That is CLAIM-181’s worry about a fixed grammar and CLAIM-190’s about measures computed in it.

What it cannot show

A6: “That accountability lacks instrumental value. An accountable record may help identify errors once the excluded possibility is made available.”
