Jawaid and Mansuy 2019 (LIT-1774, NOTE-1296), by the same senior author four years later. It cites this review (its ref. 3) as the account of germline-dependent transmission, of the tests by artificial insemination, IVF and sperm-RNA injection, and of the MSUS mouse model. It gives the laboratory’s case in short form, updated with 2016–2018 results on enrichment, sperm RNA and human sperm. The LIT summary agrees with what the later review shows. Missing still: the 2015 text itself; its treatment of germline reprogramming and of marks that escape it; its account of DNA methylation and chromatin as carriers, beside RNA; any criteria it set for inter- versus transgenerational effects; whether it answered the critics; and what it said of humans.
