Why this is here

Team reasoning makes “what is good for us” a mode of practical reasoning distinct from individual self-interest and from altruism, a third option for the owner’s thesis (CLAIM-491).

Read in its place

The paper cannot be read here, so the record holds Sugden’s team reasoning at second hand:

  • His later statement. Sugden 2015 (LIT-1698, NOTE-1288) restates team reasoning, criticizes Bacharach’s version, and gives a Schema of Cooperative Team Reasoning aimed at members’ common interests.
  • A user of it. Salice and Miyazono (NOTE-1266) take team reasoning, through Bacharach, as one part of group identification.

Missing still: the 2003 paper’s own schema and argument. The 2015 paper revises Sugden’s 1991, 1993 and 2011 work and does not restate the 2003 version, so it shows what he later held, not what this paper says.
