Emil Artin (1927), Abhandlungen aus dem Mathematischen Seminar der Universität Hamburg 5:251–260 — DOI-10.1007/BF02952526

Standing in the record

Registered on 2026-09-29 at the owner’s request, because the owner’s prior-art novelty map (a private working document on concepts as projectors, the linear representation hypothesis and their neighbours) cites it: row 6: second half of the Artin–Wedderburn attribution. It is seeded from metadata and published descriptions and has not been read here.

The map names this reference only loosely; this entry is one reasonable reading of it, and the choice is the owner’s to revise.

Identification notes: See wedderburn-1908.

A close reading was attempted on 2026-09-29. No legitimate full text could be reached: Several places were tried, and none gives a legitimate full text. (1) The converted-text cache holds no copy. (2) Springer’s PDF URL for DOI 10.1007/BF02952526 (Abh. Math. Sem. Univ. Hamburg 5:251–260, 1927) returned a 3 KB HTML paywall/redirect page, not the PDF. (3) OpenAlex marks the work closed (is_oa false, no repository copy). (4) GDZ does not hold the Abhandlungen Hamburg; its search found nothing. (5) DigiZeitschriften’s host failed TLS certificate validation (expired certificate), so it could not be checked. (6) Internet Archive searches for the journal title and for “hyperkomplexen” found no scan. (7) A web search found only the Springer page, secondary expositions and a Scribd upload. That upload is an unauthorised third-party copy and was not used. Artin’s Collected Papers (1965) is in copyright and not openly available. It stays Unavailable until a copy is supplied, not on merit.
