C. Radhakrishna Rao (1945), Bulletin of the Calcutta Mathematical Society 37:81–91 (1945); reprinted in Breakthroughs in Statistics (Springer, 1992) — DOI-10.1007/978-1-4612-0919-5_16
Standing in the record
Registered on 2026-09-29 at the owner’s request, because the owner’s prior-art novelty map (a private working
document on concepts as projectors, the linear representation hypothesis and their neighbours) cites it: row 14: the Cramér–Rao bound (Rao’s half).
It is seeded from metadata and published descriptions and has not been read here.
Only the year of first publication is known; published: uses 1 January.
Identification notes: Original has no DOI; the DOI is the Springer reprint (1992). Registering both halves of “Cramér–Rao”.
A close reading was attempted on 2026-09-29. No legitimate full text could be reached: The original (Bull. Calcutta Math. Soc. 37:81–91, 1945) is not in any open archive I could find. A web search turned up no publisher or society posting, and the converted-text cache holds no copy. OpenAlex marks the Springer reprint in Breakthroughs in Statistics Vol. I (DOI 10.1007/978-1-4612-0919-5_16) as closed. Semantic Scholar (paper c4f675cd…) gives no open PDF. Springer’s chapter-PDF URL returned an HTML purchase page, not the PDF. The open items the search did find are the reprint volume’s introduction to the paper (Pathak, chapter _15 on Springer and ResearchGate), which is not Rao’s text and was not substituted. It stays Unavailable until a copy is supplied, not on merit.
