Why it is a question

A110 §IX, “Five central mathematical questions”, the first: characterize the stochastic maps that carry compatible models to compatible ones. “A starting result is that restriction-compatible stochastic maps preserve overlap consistency. When the local maps arise from a common global stochastic kernel, they also preserve global extendability under the appropriate correspondence conditions.”

Where it stands

Those starting results are the manuscript’s Propositions 1 and 2 (CLAIM-121, CLAIM-070), both sufficient conditions. C7’s Appendix A: “The theorem therefore identifies a sufficient preservation class and a clear empirical target: measure departures from this class rather than treating arbitrary changes of measurement cover as intrinsic contextuality.” The cover-changing case was posed as CLAIM-100, now superseded by CLAIM-125 (Proposed). None of the five questions appears in the manuscript, which has no section of open problems.

Split, 2026-10-21 (ADR-049). Propositions 1 and 2 answer whether their two classes preserve, and that is QUESTION-240, Answered. This question keeps what they leave: whether either condition is necessary, whether other classes preserve, and transports that change the cover.
