The claim

A75: a chain X_0 ⇝ X_1 ⇝ ⋯ ⇝ X_n “is not simply the accumulation of metric error. It’s a sequence of reorganizations of the observational constraints that constitute the communicative object. This offers an explanation for something our earlier metric formulation obscured: a text can change dramatically while retaining a relatively small set of highly consequential relational constraints. Conversely, changing one crucial constraint—such as the speaker’s alignment with the audience—may change the identity of the communicative act even if most other observables remain stable.”

What it changes

It limits CLAIM-056: a scalar error can be small while the act changes, and large while it does not. Manuscript §8: “We propose observing how selected invariants, decision risks, and compatibility structures evolve together; their trajectories need not coincide.” The typology (constraints survive, drop, sharpen, or appear) did not reach the manuscript.

Note of 2026-10-12: evidence now linked

THEORY-203 now grounds this claim, weakly. Changes come in blocks set by the depth of the latent that changed. The THEORY itself says it is not evidence that text is hierarchical, so the support holds only where that assumption does.

Note of 2026-10-27: the edge says what the claim uses

The status review of this date (ADR-057, ADR-058) moved THEORY-203 from grounds to corroborated_by. This granted point is A75’s, and the RHM result is weak corroboration only where its assumption holds, as the claim’s own note says.
