The claim

A35 §8: “Fidelity is always fidelity with respect to some selected structure. The dynamical account doesn’t eliminate the problem of selecting invariants. It gives us a more expressive language for formulating and investigating that selection.” A38 §6.4, the third proposition: “Pragmatic translation fidelity can be defined relative to a selected observational and interactional equivalence relation”, with “different translation purposes justify different equivalence strengths”. A40 §7.5: “Pragmatic fidelity is relative to a specified family of communicative observations, interventions, and permitted continuations.”

It is the abstract form of what the mother’s translation did to CLAIM-020.

Why it was replaced

The manuscript sharpens “selected structure” into decision problems: fidelity (TERM-033) relative to the decisions the receiver must make, compared by Blackwell’s order (CLAIM-050), with “no universal choice of weights or observational tasks” (§6) and the choice “itself normative and empirically contestable” (§11).
