The claim
“These are not merely three pieces of evidence for distributed agency. They suggest three different ways of understanding what the whole is” (A8): observer-recognized organization (Brooks, LIT-436), goal-directed organization (Levin, LIT-439), and coordination dynamics (Kelso, THEORY-069).
Why it was rejected
CLAIM-045 objects to it. A10: “I treated differences in explanatory emphasis as though they implied competing ontologies. They don’t.” Earlier, A1 had called these accounts complementary; the reversal at A8 and its reversal at A10 is the oscillation a recorded relation prevents.
