The claim
CLAIM-177 version 1 said that such an argument “fails at identity, not at structure”. Two things in that are more than the record observed:
- The comparison. Only the will exchange was read move by move for both kinds of defect (ADR-032). There, 7 of about 30 claims in the final manuscript had more than one independent line of support. Structure was thin, and identity failures were what went wrong.
- The population. Every exchange since has been one owner with one assistant family.
If both hold generally, the remedy follows: code a thing the second time it turns up (CLAIM-176), and do not expect argument mapping to help. That is the design argument of the nucleating-argument line.
Why it is Proposed
What would settle it is the move-by-move reading the defeater names, done on a second exchange and on an exchange with another owner or another assistant family.
Note of 2026-10-29: what holds it back
The comparison was counted in one exchange and the population is one owner and one assistant family. It waits on the move-by-move reading its defeat condition names, done on a second exchange and on one with another owner or assistant family; none is in the record.
