Context

ADR-001 keeps nothing in both records, so moving a work to the anthology is a supersession: Talagrand Meets Talagrand went as

LIT-064 → ANTH-LIT-726. Until now, the works somebody thought might follow it were noted only in prose. The readings of LIT-056, LIT-058 and LIT-085 each say so in their “what a deeper reading should check” section, and nothing could list them.

The 2026-09-26 sweep of the papers-feed tracker for philosophy makes this larger. Its seed dossiers judge some works to be chiefly about machine-learning practice rather than a philosophical question that uses ML as its example. The owner decided that everything from the sweep stays in nucleation for now, to be transferred later if judged appropriate. The owner also asked for a tag, so that a view could report on the candidates.

Decision

Add anthology-candidate to topics, with a label and a blurb that say it is a curation flag. Declare it as the only member of a flags tag group (require: any: a label, not a rule, as in ADR-003).

  • It is carried after the work’s topics, never first. primary_topic derives from tags[0], and a flag is not what a work is about. The lint does not enforce this position. It is a filing rule, like the rule of listing the topic the document is most about first.
  • It is a question, not a verdict. Removing the tag records “stays here”. Moving the work records the transfer: a Superseded status, with superseded_by: ANTH-LIT-NNN naming the anthology’s copy.
  • Its tag page, docs/literature/tags/anthology-candidate.md, is the report. luria index generates it like any other topic page, so no new machinery is needed.

Alternatives

  • A separate field, such as candidate_for: anthology. It says what it means more exactly, but every view in luria 0.31.0 is generated from tags, so a new field would need a report nothing generates.
  • A status. Status says how the record stands on a work: read, placed, retired. A work can be Active here and a candidate for the anthology, so a status would lose one of the two facts.
  • Prose only, as before. Prose is what could not be listed.

Consequences

  • LIT-056 (Consciousness in Artificial Intelligence), LIT-058 (I-MMSE) and LIT-085 (NUTS) take the tag. Their readings already name the anthology as a possible home.
  • The works from the philosophy sweep whose dossier judged them chiefly about ML practice take it when they are filed.
  • The topic vocabulary now holds one word that is not a subject. The group label and the blurb are there so that a reader of the tag list is not misled.
