The claim

U37, quoting A102: “We do not require the structure to remain invariant. Instead, we investigate the extent to which particular relations survive, change, or cease to be jointly realizable.” Then: “symmetry is a kind of invariance, no? isn’t that part of the point of Noether Theory?”

How it was answered

Conceded. A105: “Yes. Symmetry is defined by invariance under transformation, and Noether’s theorem establishes one of the deepest connections between symmetry and conservation. My earlier contrast between structural invariance and structural transport was too sharp.” The objection is right, so it is Active. The Noether half carries over only in a limited form (CLAIM-093): it holds for Markov processes in Baez and Fong’s sense (CLAIM-107, CLAIM-094) and not in general.
