The claim
“Perhaps the company simply values safety more highly”, or speed: every governing relation redescribed as one more preference.
Why it is still open
The paper’s reply (CLAIM-122) holds members’ attitudes fixed and changes authority. But “Northstar prefers speed” is most naturally an aggregate, revealed preference of the organization, and constant individual attitudes do not refute that reading. Nothing in the manuscript answers it.
Note of 2026-10-27: a reply
The status review of this date (ADR-057) found the record’s later formal work bearing on this objection without citing it. CLAIM-482 replies on CLAIM-434’s result. The aggregate preference exists exactly when the organization’s winning moves never cycle. Where it exists, it is fitted to one regime of authority, so it describes the outcome of a change in authority and does not predict it. The objection survives for an organization whose wins follow one persistent potential through such a change.
