Why this is here

A measure of felt obligation to the future, beside legacy motivation (Zaval et al., LIT-1724), from the same research group. For QUESTION-299.

Read in its place

The work cannot be read here, so the record holds it at second hand.

Read in place of Syropoulos and Markowitz 2021: Syropoulos, Kraft-Todd, Mah, Markowitz and Young, OSF preprint wknuq (27 August 2023), the same first author’s larger later study of the same construct. It gives of the 2021 paper only a one-line citation, as “preliminary work” finding concern for future generations’ well-being “weakly or not at all related to political identity or partisanship” (p. 3). It does show the construct’s later form: RFG endorsed by most people, half as tied to conservatism as climate responsibility, predicting self-reported proenvironmentalism with demographics controlled, which agrees with the LIT’s summary in kind. Missing still: the 2021 sample, its measures, its outcomes and its effect sizes, and so whether its summary is right.
