The claim
U28: “of course, this isn’t a strict hierarchy. it’s more like a hierarchy of levels at which observables exist, and the ‘objects’ are intersections of regions of observables.” A75: “That’s a more fundamental formulation … You’re proposing something closer to an ontology induced by overlapping regions of observability, where levels organize the observables rather than the objects themselves.” And: “teasing is not simply an object at the pragmatic level. It is recognizable through a particular conjunction of linguistic, intentional, evaluative, social, and sequential observables. That is, the category itself may be a cross-level intersection.”
Manuscript §1–2: “These observations are not ordered into one strict ontological ladder”; “An outcome v defines a constraint region R(o,v)={s:o(s)=v}. An identified communicative object may be represented by an intersection of such regions.”
What it does not say
That the observables always share one state space, so that the object is always an intersection: A78 generalized it to local sections (CLAIM-038), and the manuscript keeps both. Nor anything about levels of organization of systems: the levels here are TERM-009’s, at which communicative observables exist. Nor that similarity is overlap: A75 rejected μ(X_u ∩ X_v)/μ(X_u ∪ X_v) in the same reply because “source and target regions may inhabit different observational spaces”, which needs a correspondence of observables (the manuscript’s τ, §6).
Note of 2026-10-27: stated in the live term
The status review of this date (ADR-057) found this claim using TERM-022, which is Superseded. It now uses TERM-042: TERM-042’s context-indexed constraints over a cover reduce to the intersection of constraint regions when the contexts share one ambient space, which is the case the title names last (the manuscript keeps it as that special case, §2). The claim’s status is not changed by this.
Note of 2026-10-29: narrowed and promoted
Promoted on TERM-009 and TERM-042, both Active, with no objection filed; its one objects_to target, CLAIM-008, is Superseded by it. Nothing the record holds meets defeated_if: no reading shows a communicative category fixed by one level’s observables (NOTE-680 calls its own bearing weak). The title was narrowed in the same revision, as the history says.
