Why it is a question
A24: “To what extent can the pragmatic identities of utterances be reconstructed from a globally consistent collection of context-relative judgments—and what precisely fails when that reconstruction is impossible?” It replaced the question “Is linguistic meaning quantum?”, and A24 called it “a more mature descendant of our original observation about delivery frames”.
It carries A21’s narrower question: whether illocutionary force, footing, solidarity, irony and condemnation “exhibit something stronger than ordinary context sensitivity: an empirically identifiable incompatibility structure”.
What would count as an answer
Two halves. The first is a measure of how well a rendering preserves the pattern of context-relative judgements (CLAIM-005); the manuscript’s Propositions 1 and 2 (§6) say when transport preserves overlap consistency and a global extension. The second is whether real pragmatic judgements are formally contextual at all (CLAIM-009), which needs the experiment CASE-021 or its §10 successors. Neither half has data.
